The Washington Jazz Arts Institute
has relocated its Summer Jazz Mentor Program to Peoples Congregational
Church at 4701 13th Street, NW. Many thanks to Peoples Congregational
Church for hosting our 2009 Summer Program.

Davey Yarborough was honored to receive the 2006
DC Youth Orchestra Outstanding Alumnus of the Year award at their
annual gala, at which DC Youth Orchestra was celebrating 45 years
of music education. The event was held at the Meridian International
Center in Northwest DC. Fellow Washington Jazz Arts Institute instructor
Chris Royal was also a recipient of this coveted award.
